About Us

What is The Streetcops Trust and what do we do?

Mark Pearson, Rob Jackson and Angela Prodger formed The Streetcops Trust in 2005 after they realised that many opportunities that would benefit the communities of Medway were being missed or forced to end due to funding problems.

At the time Mark and Rob were neighbourhood police constables working for Kent Police in Medway. Angela was a Medway Council councillor with the cabinet portfolio for community safety and was also a member of Kent Police Authority.

Funding sources were difficult to access; application forms were too bureaucratic and it took too long for funding to get to applicants when it was granted.

Our concept is simple: give neighbourhood officers the opportunity to support initiatives by applying for small amounts of money (up to £500) on the community's behalf which will be awarded quickly and not bog the officer down with extensive form filling.

Neighbourhood officers are the conduit between the community and The Streetcops Trust. The officers have no involvement in funding decisions nor handle money granted. They are a quality control measure, as they should only apply on behalf of initiatives they believe are worthy and of benefit.

The Streetcops Trust gives something back to the community and supports the police in the work that they cannot otherwise carry out.
